Gas Boiler Installation Services in Central London

Boiler breakdown regularly happens at the most inconvenient time. In Central London, it can be difficult and expensive to arrange emergency repairs or boiler replacement at short notice. If your gas boiler is more than 10 years old, it’s likely coming to the end of its life.  Not only that, older boilers become increasingly inefficient and less environmentally friendly with the passage of time.

So, don’t wait for disaster to strike! Trying to prolong the life of an old boiler with numerous repairs is often far less cost-effective than installing a brand new, energy efficient boiler.

The WaterGuys will install your new central heating boiler and register it with a 10 year warranty on parts and labour.

We only install the market leading brands, including:

The Latest Boiler Technology

With a careful eye on the latest models and technology, we’re able to advise which is the best sized boiler for your needs.

The  WaterGuys will work around you, to install your boiler at a time to fit in with your busy schedule.

Working from our Marylebone HQ in central London, we pride ourselves on a professional boiler installation service at a competitive price, with NO hidden costs.

Why Invest in a New Boiler?

It’s easy to take a lovely warm house and hot water for granted. If you’ve ever experienced boiler breakdown in the winter months you’ll remember just how quickly your home can cool down. Waiting for emergency call-out for boiler repair can be an uncomfortable time.

Investing in a new, state of the art, energy-efficient boiler will really minimise the risk of breakdown. Not only that, modern boilers run so much more efficiently, you’ll enjoy a substantial saving in fuel costs. With the recent hike in energy prices, this has become an ever more important consideration.

What are the Different Types of Boilers?

Combi Boilers

Combi boilers provide hot water on demand, providing an excellent choice for smaller properties with one bathroom and low water demand.

Combi Boiler ProsCombi Boiler Cons
Instant unlimited supply of hot water Combi boilers struggle to provide hot water for more than one place at a time. For instance, running a shower while someone else is using hot running water for washing up.
No water tank needed so take up less spaceReliance on mains pressure. Combi boilers don’t work as well in homes with poor water pressure.
Compact and aesthetically pleasing - all components are within the boiler casingPotential for more things to go wrong than a conventional boiler due to the higher number of moving parts within the boiler unit.

Heat Only (Regular) Boilers

Also known as ‘conventional or ‘regular’ boilers, heat-only boilers are a good choice for larger homes with more than one bathroom in use at a time. This high water demand calls for a cold water feed tank and a hot water storage tank (often installed in the loft).

Heat-only boilers connect to a water tank to provide hot water directly to your radiators. The boiler can be turned on or off, enabling you to heat and store water in the storage tank as and when you need it.

The most common heat-only boiler system requires a cold water feed and an expansion tank in the loft. The components of heat-only boilers, such as the circulation pump are externally housed from the boiler.

Heat-Only Boiler ProsHeat-Only Boiler Cons
An excellent choice for larger households, particularly if people will be showering in different bathrooms at the same time. The hot water demand of multiple bathrooms in bigger homes is best met by a heat-only boiler.Doesn't give hot water on demand. If there’s no hot water in the cylinder, you’ll have to wait for it to heat up. Of course you can use an on/off timer program to avoid this problem.
It is possible to temporarily run out of hot water. The hot water in the cylinder may run out if lots of people are using hot water at the same time.
Takes up space - room will be needed for both cold water feed and expansion tanks to be installed.
Less efficient than combi boilers - Some heat will inevitably be lost from hot water stored in the hot water cylinder.
Installation costs - can be more expensive to install than a combi boiler if you don't already have the cold water feed and expansion valve.

System Boilers

System boilers, sometimes known as ‘closed vent’ or ‘sealed system’ boilers are a good choice If you have a larger home with high water demand but poor water pressure. We would be more than happy to talk you through the advantages of a system boiler. These boilers are similar to conventional boilers. They do require a hot water cylinder but don’t need a cold water feed tank.

System components such as pumps and valves are built in, making a system boiler a great choice if you want a heat-only boiler but don’t want lots of external components.

System Boiler ProsSystem Boiler Cons
Excellent choice for larger homes - a system boiler will meet the higher hot water demand of multiple bathrooms and people using baths or showers at the same time. Space needed for a hot water cylinder.
Space saving as no cold water tank needed in the loft. No hot water on demand. The cylinder has to be given a chance to heat up (ideally use a timer).
It is possible to temporarily run out of hot water if demand is high.
Stored hot water in the cylinder will inevitably lose some heat, making system boilers less efficient than combi boilers.
